چکیده
A 3D finite element model (FEM) for predicting the distribution of lateral pressure in a square flexible walled steel silo during filling phase was analyzed this study. The numerical approach, developed using Abaqus software, predicts stress state bulk solids, as well pressures exerted on walls. An elasto-plastic Drucker–Prager criterion employed to simulate behavior granular materials. FEM simulates solid and its interaction with silo’s wall base surface-to-surface discretization model. model’s predictions were validated by previous experimental measurements. results revealed good agreement between research confirms that is not uniform at any level. This highlights fact many available theories current design codes are accurate As result wall’s deformability, regimes change significantly horizontal direction showed variations drastically regard stiffness. has been used investigate effect critical parameters distribution, such properties thickness, type, whether deep or flat.

Three-Dimensional Finite Element Analysis of Wall Pressure on Large Diameter Silos
With the increasing volume demand of silos, silo diameters are bigger and bigger. However, present wall pressure computation methods are mostly based on small diameter silos. There is little system research on large diameter silos. To solve this problem, systematical research by three-dimensional finite element method on large diameter silos was carried out in this paper. Static wall pressure a...
متن کاملThree-Dimensional Finite Element Analysis of Stress Intensity Factors in a Spherical Pressure Vessel with Functionally Graded Coating
This research pertains to the three-dimensional (3D) finite element analysis (FEA) of the stress intensity factors (SIFs) along the crack front in a spherical pressure vessel coated with functionally graded material (FGM). The vessel is subjected to internal pressure and thermal gradient. The exponential function is adopted for property of FGMs. SIFs are obtained for a wide variety of crack sha...
متن کاملThree Dimensional Finite Element
Numerical modeling of electromagnetic nondestructive testing problems has become in the last few years common enough to be considered an integral part of the engineering design practice. In particular, eddy current modeling activity has been on the increase because of the benefits afforded by such models and their relative simplicity and availability. This is certainly true for two dimensional ...
متن کاملEffect of Coating Materials on the Fatigue Behavior of Hip Implants: A Three-dimensional Finite Element Analysis
This study aims to validate, using finite element analysis (FEA), the design concept by comparing the fatigue behavior of hip implant stems coated with composite (carbon/PEEK) and polymeric (PEEK) coating materials corresponding to different human activities: standing up, normal walking and climbing stairs under dynamic loadings to find out which of all these models have a better performance in...
متن کاملEffect of Abutment Height Difference on Stress Distribution in Mandibular Overdentures: A Three-Dimensional Finite Element Analysis
Background and Aim: Implant-supported overdentures are a treatment option for edentulous patients. One of the important factors in determining the prognosis of overdenture treatment is to control the distribution of stress in the implant-bone and attachment complex. This study assessed the effect of implant abutment height difference on stress distribution in mandibular overdentures. Materials...
